CONTROL 03.19.10 – Annie Mac, Jesse Rose, Toddla T

Annie Mac is now one of the most important voices in world dance music, taking over the esteemed Friday evening slot on BBC One from the man himself Pete Tong. Her emphasis is on party, with a capital P. A huge fan of mash-up, Mac’s sets take in house, dub, drum n bass, electro, funk and pretty much anything guaranteed to make you move. A fierce presence behind the decks, we’re excited to let her loose at CONTROL.

One of the most important voices in house music over the last few years has been Jesse Rose, his fidget house has twisted up the template of house music as we know it today. Plying his trade as a DJ with regular slots at the legendary London club Fabric and visits over the pond in Europe, Jesse now holds residency at his monthly Made to Play night at the Panorambar in Berlin and tours the world for fifty-two weeks of the year. To date Jesse has recorded for the likes of Classic, Get Physical, JBO, Simple and Dave ‘Switch’ Taylor’s Dubsided label. He’s remixed the likes of Hot Chip, Armand Van Helden, Underworld, Simian Mobile Disco, Layo & Bushwacka!, Claude VonStroke and literally tons more.

Toddla T got his start DJing at age 14, by age 16 he’d decided to pursue it as a career. Not a man for half-measures. His debut album ‘Skank Skank’ in 2009 ran the gamut of hip-hop, electro, garage, dancehall and house and even featured collaborations with Roots Manuva, Hot Chip and the Arctic Monkeys. Since then he has gone on to land a coveted residency at London’s fabric and took the reigns of their prestigious live mix CD series. Firmly in the mix with the likes of Diplo, Switch and MIA in delivering dancehall to the masses, we welcome Toddla T to LA. Check his BBC Essential Mix here:
